Preparing You For LIFE- New Series!

As students, we're used to striving for certain results: good grades, scholarships, desirable awards, and overall a degree. But, aside from academic and successful achievements, we're also striving for other things that are more or less important to us: long-lasting friendships, approval, confidence, and an identity we are happy with, a fulfillment that silences everything else.

Over the past few weeks we've been exploring this through a series centered on four things we find important for every student to possess.

1. Leadership
2. Integrity
3. Faith
4. Excellence.

It's not just a list for you to shake off the dust and try harder to attain for. They're a sample of qualities that Jesus displayed in His life in hopes that we'll one day study and walk out in our own lives, and by his strength we're able to do so.

*The series started September 9th and will go until November 8th.

Presence: Our Summer Series & Challenge to You

God invites us to draw closer to him and to seek his face so that we can dwell in his presence. It's a good invitation that shouldn't be passed up. This summer we'll be challenging each other to personally go deeper with our relationship with Jesus. Our goal is to be significantly different at the end of this summer as a result of spending intimate time with God, because why stay the same when God invites us to be more like Christ?

As a practical way of getting there we'll be reading two books during our 12-week Presence series. The first is Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations authored by Alex and Brett Harris, two 19-year-old's who refused to be limited by cultural lies for the youth. Each week this summer we'll be reading 1-2 chapters and discussing and amplifying it in a small group during the week and meet back to review at our Sunday night ONE meetings.

The second book we'll be going through is the Purple book which will help us continue building a solid foundation in Christ. Together these two books should open our eyes and hearts and compel us to a stronger and more intimate relationship with Jesus.

REVOLUTION '09

This past weekend was incredible! Thousands of people came out for a great set of entertainment from major artists like Relient K, Groovaloos, and Superchick. The free event was centered around the idea of making a difference and evoking change through inspiration and through Jesus Christ's message of hope, love, and faith.

We got to meet a lot of you at REVOLUTION and if you're reading this we'd like to invite you to our Sunday night ONE events. From 6 to 7:30 we gather at the Global Cafe in Studio City for a great time of worship and fellowship.
